Chipped and Cracked Windshield Repairs
Not all windshields can be repaired. But if there’s fewer than three chips and all of them are away from the edge, or there’s a single crack that’s less than 3 to 6 inches long the repair versus replace decision is usually pretty obvious. Your window repair will be practically invisible and remove the risk of loosing structural integrity.
Windshield chip and crack repairs cost only a fraction of a replacement, restoring the strength and a clear view so important for safety. And for appearance sake we’ll match the 2,000-odd window tint and refraction combinations out there. Our work is designed to be a lifetime repair, not a single-season solution like some DIY kits.
We use only methods and materials approved by the CA Vehicle Code, the US DOT, and the insurance industry. In fact, insurance companies recognize the cost savings and safety issues, and most will wave your deductible so that a windshield repair might not cost you anything at all.
We start a glass repair with super-cleaning then inject and cure the highest-grade matching bonding agent. That makes sure that the crack or chip won’t spread and the bonding agent won’t discolor. Alternating pressure and vacuum we make sure there’s no trapped air to affect your view or be a reduced-strength point. Even with all that it typically takes under an hour to repair a windshield, and in some cases it can take as little as 15 minutes.
Windshield Replacement
Sometimes a large crack or rock chip is impossible to repair. If a windshield replacement is necessary, our auto glass replacement will match factory and after-market tinting. That’s usually from inventory so there’s no delay. And it’s usually covered by our insurance.
We use only OEM (original equipment manufacturer) or OEE (original equipment equivalent) auto glass meeting all safety requirements. That also means your new windshield will fit perfectly, be more chip resistant, and provide UV protection. We don’t settle for the cheapest; that usually means its not up to safety and durability standards. We also use only top-grade adhesives to create the new seal.
Although replacement only takes an hour or so the vehicle needs to sit for about an hour and you’ll need to take special care (such as leaving a window partially open and not slamming any doors) for the first 24 hours.
Auto Glass
We can also repair or replace other auto glass such as rear windshields, side windows, and those small side “vents.” We’re experienced in working with power windows as well as sun roofs, including dealing with water leaks and air-leak whistles.
